My name is Annie McKee. To me, cat sitting is work of the heart. I feel honoured to be a cat nanny – Both to be entrusted by humans with their loved ones and to be trusted by cats as we get to know each other.
Professionalism, respect, personalisation and experience are the foundations of my approach:
Professionalism
I approach cat sitting as a profession. I’m diligent, responsive and reliable so that my human clients know they can count on me. I intentionally cultivate calming energy and presence so that my feline clients feel at ease. I’m committed to cat sitting, and to staying in my local area, for the long term.
Respect
I’m guided by each cat as to how we interact. I observe the customs of feline etiquette and respect boundaries. I have a knack of putting timid cats at ease. For more readily affectionate or playful personalities, I put myself through my paces to entertain!
Personalisation
I love being of service in ways that satisfy each client as an individual. For example: Sundae likes to inspect her garage. Sweetpea likes to drink from her hand basin. Pudgie likes to be brushed with her sticky lint roller. Maintaining personal habits is fun and reassuring. Cats are individuals and no request is too weird!
Experience
I’ve been cat sitting now for over a decade. In 2015, I set up a profile on an online pet-sitting platform. I received great reviews and gained many repeat clients. In 2018, I took the leap of starting Cat Nanny Annie as an independent business. I continued to cat sit alongside my office job, gathering experience and knowledge about the needs of cats and their humans when they’re apart. In 2025, I felt called to make this care-giving role my full-time focus.
